Originally constructed in 1927, Hoch Auditoria was significantly damaged in 1991 when lightning sparked a fire that largely destroyed it. The historic limestone façade, stair towers, and north foyer were saved and integrated into the new building, Budig Hall, in 1997. The three-and-one-half story Indiana limestone building was in need of exterior stone cleaning and pointing. The project scope included tuckpointing the limestone façade, replacement/repair of damaged limestone, replacement of all sealant joints at exterior, sealing of the limestone façade, and historic wood window restoration, replication, and refinishing. The project received State of Kansas Historic Tax Credits.
